Primary research is essential to graphic and media design because we can generate ideas and collect material first hand from the places we go and the mediums we collect. Primary research can be used directly into graphic design to create work or we use it generate other imagery and/or textures. The different types of primary research are; Photography, Typography, Moving Imagery and Drawings to name a few.
The form of primary research I went with is photography (as seen below), I believe it to be the best method as you can get clear visuals of a structure, object, texture etc. as well as its a fast and easy method for those on the move. I prefer photography over other methods as you can do a lot to manipulate and modify your picture to generate even more ideas and images.
